Heroes Are Amongst Us
It is a sunny Sunday here in Medellin, Colombia and all day I have been thinking about the extraordinary individuals that I have been blessed to meet along this journey of launching this charity. It has been a journey of many emotions, from disappointment to rage, hope to determination, joy to elation and from sadness to tears of hope. My SOUL has been touched by the children who are so appreciative and loving and the adults who are silently and anonymously helping these children in great need.
The mind lies, the heart heals and forgets but when something touches our SOUL, it never allows us to ignore, minimize or forget the truth. This is the reason why I wanted the name SOUL DANCERS charity. It is only when the SOUL is touched, do we as humans become motivated to make a difference in the lives of others .
Heroes do exist and they are living amongst us. I want to first acknowledge 2 women warriors who continue to give me the strength to move forward with my dream when I am feeling overwhelmed and discouraged. Haylie Dobie and Kerry Brough, I cannot thank you enough for your creativity, your determination, your loving, unselfish spirits and your friendship.
Juan Sebastian, my adopted Colombian son who gives so much of his time to help me navigate my way here in foreign country. Without his help it would be impossible. At the age of 23, you are an exceptional young man with a kind heart.
